The Canadian Pork Council kicks off Super Bowl weekend at Restaurant International

On Friday, Feb. 7, the Canadian Pork Council kicked off Super Bowl weekend with pork-packed snacks prepared by culinary students at Restaurant International at Algonquin College. The event served as both a celebration of Canadian pork and an opportunity to enjoy creative and flavorful snacks in advance of Super Bowl weekend.

The event included entry into a raffle by throwing mini footballs at a target, a chili competition, small dishes such as spring rolls, lettuce wraps, pork sliders, mini pork tacos, butter chicken-style pork on homemade naan bread, meatballs, skewers and more. Attendees included Algonquin College employees and community members such as local chefs and City Councillor Laine Johnson.

This event highlights the importance of vendor partnerships for building community and providing learners with opportunities.
