Changes are coming to the current 15-week term model to incorporate a Mid-Term break in every semester, with the College adopting a 14-week term model for 2019-2020. This new term model will provide an opportunity to complete assignments without additional schoolwork, catch up on readings, and return to classes ready for the final weeks. This break will also allow the College to make more efficient use of facilities, and improve scheduling. Read more >

The Algonquin Times has been awarded top campus newspaper in the province at the Ontario Community Newspapers Association’s Better Newspapers Competition, besting newspapers from Humber College and Niagara College to take the General Excellence category.
“Our students continue to show why Algonquin College’s program is the destination of choice for those who wish to practice and showcase excellence in Ontario advertising and journalism,” said Joe Banks, Coordinator and professor for the College’s Journalism program. “Our faculty are among the best in Canada and they too can take time to reflect on programs that they evolved over years. National Co-op Week is the perfect time to celebrate the impact and benefits of cooperative education.
On Thursday, March 21, Algonquin College will mark its annual Co-op Awards of Excellence, which honour the extraordinary accomplishments and contributions of our co-op employers and students.
