Algonquin College pastry arts chef Catherine Beddall has added some icing to her award-winning reputation with another top showing at a prestigious American competition.
Beddall’s entry was among the top ten adult winners in the 27th Annual National Gingerbread House Competition in Asheville, North Carolina on November 18. The competition attracted more than 220 bakers with their all-edible designs.
“It’s my vision of the ultimate fantasy getaway in miniature,” Beddall says in describing her gingerbread construction. Read more >

When Kyla Gaudreau’s husband “made” her watch hockey the other night she had no idea the ad campaign she helped create would air during a commercial a break.
There it was, the hard work of her and her classmates playing on TSN! The Advertising and Marketing Communications Management student was part of a team that included Adrianna Goyette, Maria Sukey, Nikita Cheng, Erin Storey, Matt Traynor, and Randy Gaudreau — the same husband who made Mrs. Gaudreau watch the game that night. Together the team of seven created the latest campaign for the Ottawa Senators Foundation. Read more >
