Meet this week’s friendly faces
Posted on Friday, September 16th, 2022
This week’s friendly faces of the AC Faces Series are coming to us from the Algonquin Students’ Association, AC Marketplace Food Court, Student Central, the Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre and Ottawa Campus Parking Services.
First up this week in the AC Faces Series was Student Central — we took a trip down to the bottom floor of Building C to say a quick hello to Ashley (right) and Candice (left). Whether you’re having trouble accessing the student portal or applying for OSAP, Student Central is a one-stop shop for everything ITS, financial aid and enrolment related.
Take a trip to Student Central today and know some friendly fACes when you get there!
Next up, we scooted over to the Marketplace Food Court where we met up with Keith.
Need a bite in between classes or on the hunt for a healthy lunch? AC’s Marketplace, located in Building D, can satisfy all of your foodie needs.
Want to know what Keith’s cooking up for the week? Take a look at the weekly chef menu to see what piques your interest: https://www.algonquincollege.com/food-services/marketplace-food-court-menus/
With full bellies and very little time left on our parking meter, we decided to make our way back to Building E (Ottawa Campus Student Commons) to settle up with Michael (left) and Brandon (right) at Parking Services.
Looking to park on campus this semester? Michael and Brandon are ready to help you find the parking option that’s right for you. To learn more about the parking packages available to students, check out the parking services website: https://www.algonquincollege.com/parking/
If you’re interested in discussing parking options face-to-face, head over to Building E to chat with Michael, Brandon, or one of the many other friendly faces at Parking Services.
With more time on our parking meter, we now had extra time to hit the gym. So, we headed over to the new Jack Doyle Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) to meet up with Erika.
The ARC has everything you need to de-stress after a challenging week, from ten-pin bowling with friends to fast-paced boxing or Zumba classes, there’s truly something for everyone.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out the ARC amenities yet, you can find a step-by-step guide of how to access the ARC facilities on the Algonquin Students’ Association (SA) website: https://www.algonquinsa.com/athletics/arc/.
Or, if you’re already on campus, head down to the ARC today and know a friendly face when you get there!
To round out our day we took a trip back to the Student Commons to say hello to even more friendly faces from the SA — say hello to Jessica (left) and Skye (right)!
The SA is a student-run, not-for-profit whose mission is to create an environment that inspires passion for student success. In keeping with their commitment to making the student experience the best it can be, the SA offers a whole host of services that students can take advantage of. To learn more about the SA and what they offer, head down to Building E to chat with Jessica and Skye at the front desk of the SA office or check out their website, https://www.algonquinsa.com/.
Keep on the lookout for all of the friendly faces to come during the month of September and make sure to send us a note or leave us a comment on social to tell us who you’d like to meet next!
