Join us for a Students’ Association Recognition Event on National Indigenous Peoples Day
Posted on Thursday, June 13th, 2019
To celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, Algonquin College is recognizing the Students’ Association’s ongoing support and contribution to the Indigenization of our College community. Come and join us on Friday, June 21 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day and help us recognize our incredible Students’ Association.
Algonquin’s Students’ Association has contributed $1 million to ensuring key elements in the construction of the DARE District, including our Indigenous mural, Nawapon and our beautiful new courtyard, Ishkodewan. These spaces, cultural expressions and names, gather the voices and inspiration from our neighbouring communities of Kitigan Zibi Anishnabeg First Nation and Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation, as well as our Indigenous learners here at the College. Miigwetch to everyone for helping to make our campus a beautiful expression of cultural diversity here on Algonquin territory.
