CICan CEO visits Algonquin College

Algonquin College President and CEO Claude Brulé welcomed Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) CEO Pari Johnston to AlgonquinCICan President Pari Johnston and Algonquin College President and CEO Claude Brule College on Wednesday, June 5.

After meeting with the Algonquin College Executive Team, Johnston and Brulé toured the College, visiting the Student Commons, DARE District, SLiDE Lab and ACCE Building.

Johnston was able to learn about various areas of the College from Ben Bridgstock, Director, Student Support Services; Mary Grammatikakis, Director, Experiential Learning & Entrepreneurship; Kevin Holmes, Senior Program Manager, Applied Research; and Chris Hahn, Dean, ACCE and the Perth Campus. Algonquin College wishes a happy 50th birthday to CHEO

To celebrate Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO)’s 50th anniversary, Algonquin College joins other institutions across Ottawa toCHEO hospital building with a purple filter on top mark the occasion by lighting up the night sky purple. The Woodroffe pedestrian bridge will be lit purple this evening, May 17. Purple is CHEO’s official colour.

From providing pediatric care to pioneering groundbreaking medical treatment, CHEO has held a special place in the community for 50 years.

“CHEO has been a long-standing partner for our health programs, from nursing and respiratory therapy to our suite of diagnostic imaging programs, students learn first-hand from our most critical patient voice of all, that of our children. They are a great friend and I wish them sincere congratulations on their milestone anniversary.” said Erin Stitt-Cavanagh, Dean, School of Health Studies.
