On Tuesday, March 8, the Algonquin College community joined together to take part in the AC community mural project at the Ottawa campus. After an initial meeting with Algonquin College students to discuss the imagery and meaning of the mural, artists Jimmy Baptiste, Allan André, and Kalkidan Assefa got to work creating a concept and design.
Students and staff were invited to sign-up for one-hour slots to join in on the community painting day and add their artistic touch to various sections of the mural. Also in attendance were Algonquin Students’ Association President, Emily Ferguson, and Algonquin College President and CEO, Claude Brulé – to contribute their part to the mural.
