Algonquin College hosts Ottawa Indigenous Student Career Fair 

On Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2025, over 40 employers from across the National Capital Region met with hundreds of students as Algonquin CollegeStudents chatting with potential employers at tables inside Nawapon hosted Indigenous students from Carleton University, Collège La Cité and the University of Ottawa at the Ottawa Indigenous Student Career Fair in Nawapon.

Current students and recent graduates participated in networking opportunities with employers from various fields including criminology, construction, government and social work. Participating businesses included Ellis Don, PCL Construction, Defence Construction Canada, Government of Canada, Bank of Canada, Ottawa Public Library and Ottawa Police Services, to name just a few.

“This is an extremely important event for our students for them to know that employees really want to hire them and for employers to also make a meaningful connection with our Indigenous students,” said Summer Wabasse, Mamidosewin Centre Event and Communications Officer.
