The program was previously ranked fifth in 2023 and has moved up to fourth place in 2024 for Top Animation Colleges in Canada, surpassing postsecondary institutions such as Seneca College, Humber College, and Vancouver Animation School, to name a few.

This year marks the thirteenth annual ACR international rankings for animation, which began in 2012 in response to inquiries surrounding the best animation programs worldwide. The ACR’s ranking criteria looks at an institution’s academic reputation, post-education employment data, graduation and retention rates, admission selectivity and experience of faculty. High ACR rankings are widely considered a source of pride by animation programs both across Canada and internationally. The rankings consider nearly 200 schools with animation programs from across the globe. For international rankings, schools are divided by credential category – those that grant four-year degrees or equivalent, and those which offer professional training such as certificates and diplomas.

  • #1 in Ontario
  • #4, Top Animation Colleges in Canada
  • #11, Top 50 for Animation Internationally

“This is terrific news for the Animation program and a testament to the hard work of the professors and the team. Congratulations to our creative and dedicated students as well. We are very proud to be recognized in this way here in Ontario, as well as internationally,” said Heather Ryall, Dean, Faculty of Arts, Media, and Design”.

The AC Animation program teaches drawing, animation and the use of industry-standard technology. Graduates have gone on to work for studios like Disney, Warner Bros., Ubisoft and Sony, among many others.
