Algonquin College takes part in Third Annual Ottawa Indigenous Student Career Fair

Over 25 employers today participated in the Ottawa Indigenous Student Careerbooths and tables set up at Indigenous employment fair. Fair (OISCF), a cross-campus initiative organized by the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, College La Cité and Algonquin College. This collaboration helps create a stronger sense of community between the campuses and is a more efficient way for employers and learners to meet one another.

Together, the four campuses are home to approximately 3,000 self-identified Indigenous learners, and many are seeking employment opportunities, including part-time or full-time as they approach graduation.

The event was held at the Wabano Centre for Aboriginal Health and included employers Nokia, Altis, PCL, Gemtec, Ellis-Don, TD Bank, Jazz Solar, Cyber GC, Canada Post, Transport Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada, National Research Council, Bank of Canada, Canadian Museum of History, Shared Services Canada, Defense Construction Canada, the City of Ottawa, Ottawa Aboriginal Coalition, John Howard Society, National Association of Friendship Centres, and the Wabano Centre.
