Student Health & Safety Training

Algonquin College wants to ensure that students are properly trained for their return to Campus.
Algonquin’s Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Team has partnered with YOW Canada Inc. to provide an on-line Student OHS Training Portal that is customized to your personal OHS training requirements. When you visit the student OHS Training Portal, you will be prompted to enter your Student ID Number. Once confirmed, the system will take you to your personalized training dashboard that identifies training offerings available to you. On the same screen, a convenient list of courses you have completed appears at the bottom.
Presently, the portal allows you access to the following training programs:
COVID-19 Orientation – Returning to Campus *NEW
This training is required for all students when they return to campus. It provides an orientation to COVID-19 and to help to prepare you for returning to campus. It summarizes all of the key infection prevention and control measures that are being implemented across the College to prevent and respond to COVID-19 exposure risks and supports our efforts to provide a safe and healthy College community.
Ontario Health & Safety Awareness Training
Among other topics, this teaches participants the roles and responsibilities of workplace parties, duties and rights of workers and supervisors and general workplace hazards.
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS & WHMIS 2015) Training
This course teaches participants about the WHMIS regulations and how to identify and work safely with controlled products and chemical hazards in the workplace.
