Rediscover Canada – July 23, 2020
What do poutine, beavertails, Caesars and polite people have in common? They all come from Canada! Join us on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 7:00 pm as we experience one of the most beautiful countries in the world – ours! The concept for “Rediscover Canada” came about during the COVID-19 pandemic during which an entire movement was experienced across our vast country. People vowed to shop local and visit local. This free event is your opportunity to travel across Canada and experience the diversity of this land and culture all from the comfort of your home. You will travel to a variety of cities and provinces and along the way, enjoy mouth-watering demonstrations from a professional mixologist, see and hear local entertainment, meet with some special guests and so much more! Not only is this an opportunity for you to learn more about Canada, you will also have an opportunity to hear from 4 Ottawa charities who have been hard at work supporting their clients during the COVID pandemic – the Dave Smith Youth Centre who support youth with mental health and addiction challenges; Candlelighters who support families with children diagnosed with cancer; Ottawa Riverkeeper who keep an eye on our watershed; and the Ottawa Food Bank. Although not mandatory to attend the event, donating to the event will allow us to allocate funds to all of these well-deserved charities.
