Mid-Term Break Week (Oct. 21-25)

Fall Mid Term Break

Dear Learners:

The first-ever Fall Mid-Term Break Week (Oct. 21-25) is fast approaching for most programs on our campuses. This is a well-deserved time for you to catch up, engage in the College’s non-academic offerings, or simply to relax.

While there will be limited academic activity during this period, Algonquin College will still be a bustling hub of student services and events.

The fall break is meant to give you a chance to do readings, complete assignments without the burden of additional schoolwork or exams, meet with faculty, pursue Co-Curricular Record activities, or simply to breathe a little easier during a stressful time.

When planning your week, ensure your program has a break and is not one of the few exceptions. Visit algonquincollege.com/fallbreak for a list of programs that will remain active Oct. 21-25.

This website also contains a fall break calendar of student activities being offered by Student Support Services, Library Services, the International Education Centre, Residence and the Students’ Association. Student supports like the AC Hub, Counselling, the Centre for Accessible Learning and Health Services will be available as usual. Campus Services – from Connections: The Campus Store to Food Services – will also be open during regular hours (with some service-location exceptions noted online).

Our new 14-week Term Model created space for the fall break – a move that supports improved student mental health and long-term academic success. We know how hard you work and your time off is well deserved.

For those who are leaving campus for the Mid-Term Break Week, I wish you safe travels. For those planning to stay in our communities, I encourage you to take advantage of everything our campuses will continue to offer.

Sincerely,

Margaret Cusson

Acting Senior Vice President Academic
