What is changing for Fall 2024?
Your AC Card and U-Pass are now a single, all-in-one, card!
Algonquin College, The University of Ottawa, Carleton University, and the City of Ottawa have been working together for the past two years to eliminate the blue U-Pass card and merge it onto each institution’s student card.
The details:
- Your new AC Card + U-Pass will function as both an AC Card and U-Pass, eliminating the need for U-Pass eligible students to be issued two cards!
- No more renewals! Your AC Card + U-Pass will automatically be enabled each term you are U-Pass eligible.
- Appointments are no longer needed to pick up your AC Card + U-Pass!
I’m a returning student at the Ottawa Campus. What do I need to do?
All returning full-time Ottawa Campus students will need to have a new AC Card printed.
- Please visit the AC Card/ U-Pass Service Centre in D Building (Marketplace Food Court) to get your new card, at no additional cost. The AC Card and U-Pass Service Centre is open weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Marketplace Food Court.
- You do not need to upload a new photo, as we will use your existing photo still on file.
- Bring your current AC Card with you, as we will need to collect it when we issue you a new AC Card + U-Pass.
I am a new student. How do I get my AC Card?
Getting your AC Card + U-Pass
- Get your Algonquin College network username and password, found in the menu on the left side in your ACSIS account under “Network Account Info”. If your network username and password are missing from ACSIS, please contact the Registrar’s Office for support.
- Login to the AC Photo Portal and follow the steps to submit a photo for your card. If you are eligible for a U-Pass, your AC Card + U-Pass will serve as your transit pass for unlimited use on all OC Transpo and STO routes.
- Once your photo is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to pick-up your card. During the photo submission process, you can include a preferred email address to be used for communication regarding receiving your card. Please be sure to provide the email address that you check most frequently to ensure you get your card notifications as soon as possible. More information and frequently asked questions can be found on our website.
- Pick up your card. Avoid line-ups by picking up your card early. You can do this at the AC Card and U-Pass Service Centre (open weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Marketplace Food Court, starting Aug. 12). Please bring your current AC Card with you, as we will need to collect it when we issue you a new AC Card + U-Pass.
- Students who pick up their AC Card + U-Pass before August 27 will be entered into a draw for a chance to win $500 in AC Cash!
