TSC: Support at Algonquin College
Each student registered with the Transition Support Centre receives the support from a Disabilities Instructor and Learning Strategist.
Services of a TSC Disabilities Counsellor and Learning Strategist include:
- Problem-solving and communication support
- Disabilities counselling for accommodation-related needs
- Learning strategies support on assignments, tests, and presentations
- Managing sensory needs and stress
- Accessing a safe space for 1:1 studying and support
TSC Just-In-Time Supports
The TSC staff is available for three hours a day from Monday to Friday for same say support.
TSC Drop-In
The TSC is open for drop in use of the space for studying, social events, and visiting a sensory safe space Monday to Friday, from 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4 pm.
Informal Social Events and Workshops
The TSC offers informal social activities throughout the year. Socials offered by the TSC encourage students to establish and maintain social connections in a flexible, enjoyable atmosphere, tailored to their interests.
The TSC hosts a variety of workshops during the school year with a focus on skill building.
Topics include: semester planning, mindful gaming, creative workshops, employment strategies, and resume and job fair preparation.
