Thursday, October 3 • 12pm-1pm
Do you cringe when your professors assign group projects? Do you dread completing these projects because navigating schedules, personalities, and goals can be so challenging? This “LS Chat” will give you an opportunity to share experiences, exchange resources, problem solve, and build a network of support to make group work more fun and successful. A learning strategist (Darlene) will facilitate the conversation, which may touch on topics such as building rapport and connection, assigning roles and responsibilities, creating standards for your group to follow through a group contract, and facilitating communication.

Do you craft? — if you bead, make pottery, design jewelry, or make art of any kind, this CAL Connect event is for you! Bring something to share or just come out to admire the work of others.
This session will also give you the chance to try out embroidery or weaving. Join Susan to dive headfirst into the world of mandalas and embroidery using the trusty back stitch – it’s like doodling with thread! Or check out John’s weaving skills as he demonstrates making a scarf with a loom. No experience necessary!
The event is drop-in and open to everyone who comes; however, students may register to receive email reminders. Advanced registration is recommended for EMBROIDERY — please register by Friday, November 8, if you would like to guarantee a space to embroider.
Ukelele Jam • November 26, 12pm-1pm

Please email Heather (baileyh1@algonquincollege.com) to reserve a ukelele (first come, first served), make a song request, or let us know of any accommodation needs. Those wishing to simply sing or percuss are also welcome!
Please contact Bethany (wisemab@algonquincollege.com) or Jill Yealland (yeallaj@algonquincollege.com) with questions or suggestions for new CAL Connect events.
