Book your test

To book your test, go to the CAL Student Portal.

Booking deadlines for students:

  • Tests/Quizzes – must be booked at least seven (7) days in advance.
    • Count backwards 7 days from the day of the test. When counting, include the weekend, the day on which you’re booking the test, and the day of the test. For example, if you want to take a test on Friday, you would have to book it on the previous Friday before midnight.
  • *NEW* Midterms – all midterms/tests being written February 18 – 21 must be booked by Monday, February 3.
  • Final Exams – all exams/tests being written April 12-21 must be booked by Wednesday, March 19.

Follow these 3 steps to log into the CAL Student Portal.

  1. On the CAL Student Portal homepage, select “Book a test.”
  2. Once there, select “Schedule a test, mid-term or quiz.” This will take you to the login page.
  3. Log in using your Algonquin College username and password.

Once logged into the CAL Student Portal, complete the following steps:

  1. Select your course from the drop-down menu.
  2. Select the class’s date, time, and regular duration (non-accommodated time) as it is scheduled.
  3. The professor’s name and email will appear automatically. Check to make sure they’re correct. If it is incorrect, please enter the correct information.
  4. Select your requested accommodations from the list.
  5. Select in-person.
  6. Review and confirm your booking.
  7. Submit your booking request.

All test bookings are tentative until approved by your professor.


You’ve booked your test. Now what?

Check that your request went through. There are two ways you can confirm that your request went through:

  1. Check your Algonquin College email for a confirmation message from CAL Test Services. This will verify that your request went through.
  2. In the CAL Student Portal, select “My upcoming events.” This will show you all the bookings you have requested with CAL Test Services.
    • Keep checking this page to verify your test details.
    • If you see “Booked” next to a test, that means it’s been approved by your instructor.
    • To cancel your booking, select “Cancel.”
