What are my responsibilities as an Algonquin College student accessing CAL services?
As an Algonquin College student, it is your responsibility to:
- Provide appropriate documentation to the CAL describing the functional impacts of your disability
- Contact your Disabilities Counsellor if your Letter of Accommodation (LOA) needs to be updated
- Ensure your professors receive a copy of the LOA each term if you are seeking accommodations for that course:
- On-campus students need to send their LOA through the CAL Student Portal
- AC Online students need to send their LOA to their Course Facilitators and the AC Online Exam Coordinator . Course Facilitator emails can be found on Brightspace and the Exam Coordinator can be emailed at OLexams@algonquincollege.com
- If you need help sending your LOA, please reach out to your Disabilities Counsellor
- Discuss with faculty and/or course facilitators the accommodations as required.
- Consult with faculty and/or CAL if concerns or needs arise.
- Students who need to book on-campus test and exam accommodations must follow the deadlines outlined on the CAL Test Services webpage.
- Access Learning Strategy and Assistive Technology support as needed.
- Abide by departmental, school, and College policies that apply to all students.
- Reach out for assistance from CAL and other relevant services as needed.
