How to Register with the CAL

This process is for Ottawa, Perth, and AC Online students accessing CAL services for the first time.

Already registered? Contact us through the Welcome Centre or access your Letter of Accommodation via the CAL Student Portal.

Seeking accommodations for an Admission Assessment? Do not complete the form below; instead, contact CAL Test Services.

We encourage you to register with the CAL upon acceptance or as early as possible prior to your academic start date. Please note:

  • More extensive accommodations (e.g. transcription services, sign language interpreting, specialized classroom equipment) can take up to 6-8 weeks to arrange.
  • Testing accommodations through CAL Test Services must be booked by the deadlines posted on the CAL Test Services website.

How to Register

Step 1: Complete the confidential Request for Support form. You can print or complete the form electronically.

Step 3: Submit your Request for Support form and documentation to the CAL via the Welcome Centre.

To protect your personal information, it is recommended you use one or more of the following security options when submitting the Request for Support and/or medical documentation

  1. When possible, use your Algonquin College email account (********@algonquinlive.com)
  2. Add a password to the documents you are submitting. Important: Send the password in a separate email so your documents can be opened

After you submit your application, our team will review your documentation and contact you to arrange an appointment with the appropriate staff member.

Interim Accommodations

Interim (temporary) accommodations may be provided for students who do not yet have disability documentation or are in the process of being assessed for a disability. Please complete the steps above to access services. For more information, contact the Welcome Centre:
