I have now been with the PSAC for over four years, and recently accepted a position as a Grievance and Adjudication Analyst. Work-Integrated Learning

  • Students complete a 240 hour field placement. This gives you the opportunity to practice your skills and apply your knowledge to a real or simulated work environment.
  • Students participate in hands-on activities, including mock trials. Learn about ethics, professional responsibility and the requirements of running a legal services firm.

Competitions

Durham Mock Trial Competition

Algonquin College Paralegal student teamCongratulations to the Algonquin College Paralegal student team who made it to the semi-final round of the Durham Mock Trial Competition! There were nine Paralegal teams entered from colleges around the province for this year’s competition.

The student team participated in mock trials and were very fortunate to have their trials heard and judged by Deputy Judges of the Small Claims Court. It was a great moment for the team to have a judge comment on how impressed he was with their advocacy skills and their bright future in the profession. Level 2 student, Elizabeth Dumais, won the Best Advocate award!
