This program is accredited by the CPSA Institute as providing all 35 hours of pre-requisite education toward the Certified Sales Professional designation, the second level of the Graduated Certification Framework. By successfully completing this program, you may be eligible to earn your Certified Sales Professional Certificate from the CPSA Institute.

Courses
Programs at Algonquin College are delivered using a variety of instruction modes. Courses may be offered in the classroom or lab, entirely online, or in a hybrid mode which combines classroom sessions with virtual learning activities. - Conduct research required for prospecting and needs analysis to create evidence-informed value propositions for overcoming objections and managing negotiations to close sales.
- Implement strategic communication planning processes and tools to generate leads and improve customer retention and loyalty.
- Prepare and deliver a sales presentation based on a needs analysis to meet customer requirements in domestic and global markets.
- Formulate targeted strategies to create, assess, and execute business development opportunities.
- Evaluate results of business-to-business marketing activities using criteria related to forecast sales, costs, profits and other identified objectives.
- Conceptualize, create and implement a sales plan to support the development of business-to-business marketing activity.
- Incorporate business ethics and corporate social responsibility principles according to industry standards and best practices in the selling of products or services.

Admissions Requirements
Program Eligibility
- Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma or Degree or equivalent.
- Applicants with partial post-secondary education (minimum two years in good academic standing) and relevant work experience may be considered for admission.
- Applicants with international transcripts must provide proof of the subject-specific requirements noted above and may be required to provide proof of language proficiency. Domestic applicants with international transcripts must be evaluated through the International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS) or World Education Services (WES).
- IELTS -International English Language Testing Service-Overall band of 6.5 with a minimum of Reading: 6.0; Listening: 6.0; Speaking: 6.0; Writing: 6.0; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 88, with the minimum in each component: Reading: 22; Listening: 22; Speaking: 22; Writing: 22; OR Duolingo English Test (DET) Overall 120, minimum of 120 in Literacy and no score below 105.

Patrick is passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge specializing in topics of sales/customer service, business management and marketing as an instructor for the School of Business and Hospitality. Working with students that are motivated and ambitious is a rewarding experience. As a co-founding board member and active supporter of Sales Professionals of Ottawa, he is thrilled to connect students with experience opportunities with our local business community.
Patrick’s professional experience includes creating and running a company called “Your Personal Chef Ltd.”, working in various management and training roles within the vehicle rental industry for global brands, and most recently co-created “CERnT”, a firm specializing with assisting organizations increase revenues and better connect with their clients and members via training, technology and consulting services.

Some might say I am a solution-focused, results-driven Sales, Marketing and Business Development professional who has a proven 15-year senior management track record in leading, coaching and motivating large teams to consistently over-achieve revenue and performance targets.
Almost 15 years ago I was fortunate to join the Professional Development, Coaching and Education sector at Algonquin College, and discovered first hand the joy and immense gratification of enabling students and business professionals to grow and transform as they applied this new knowledge in real life situations. Coaching and leading students for over 10 years in National Case Competitions and watching them grow and succeed was a satisfaction greater than any other business accomplishments.
If I am not in the classroom teaching or having a coffee with a student or colleague, you will find me on the golf course, cheering for the Ottawa Senators or you may not find me at all because I am travelling.
