Success Stories & Testimonials
“When I started in the Business Administration – Human Resources program, it was the peak of Covid 19. Learning how to operate in a virtual environment came as a new challenge, but the program and guidance of my professors prepared me for my future endeavors. I was taught a variety of courses that solidified my desire to work in HR and motivated me to work towards my goals. I had the opportunity, during level 5 and 6, to participate in the placement program. This portion of the program aligned with my career plan, allowing me to practice what I had learned in class and to meet with industry professionals in my area of studies. During this time I accepted a student role in HR at the college where I was able to demonstrate my skills and professionalism and ultimately led to a full-time job in HR at Algonquin College. For me, this program was a meaningful and fulfilling experience. I would recommend it to anyone looking to set themselves up for a successful future in the Human Resources field.”
– Erica Joyce, Graduate, Human Resources Professional, Algonquin College
“Class sizes were a lot smaller than in university, and we worked in teams to produce deliverables that mimic projects you would actually do in industry.”
– Samantha, Student
“Engaging, interesting, applicable, informative . . . these are just a few words to describe my very positive and worthwhile experience with the Business Administration – Human Resources program. In various ways, this school provides excellent background theory alongside real life practice for all aspects of human resources. While at Algonquin, I also was able to tutor other students taking HR courses which was beneficial for my learning and attractive to prospective employers. Now being in HR as a prospective employer myself, I along with many others, hold Algonquin College graduates with high regard as they add special value to any organization. Thanks to the knowledge and confidence the program provided me, I now practice in many areas of human resources, and hope one day in the future I will come full circle and regularly impart my knowledge to HR students at the College!”
– Kirsten Paquette, Graduate
“Thank you for all of your help over the last couple of years. Without professors who care about their students as much as you do, my college experience would have been very different. I really appreciate the time you took to help me manage my schedule and answer any questions that I had. This program has prepared me for the business world and I am now ready to take on whatever obstacles come my way.”
