Bachelor of Commerce – Nipissing University

Algonquin College has formed a partnership with Nipissing University to offer an innovative business degree completion program. After graduating from a two-year Business Diploma or a three-year Business Administration Advanced Diploma program at Algonquin College, you can earn a 90-credit Bachelor of Commerce (3-year) degree or a 120-credit Bachelor of Commerce (4-year) degree from Nipissing University. You will be admitted into the program with a minimum 2.7 GPA which will earn you transfer credits towards your degree. However, if you earn a 2.9+ GPA at graduation from Algonquin business or business administration diplomas, you will earn additional transfer credits allowing you to complete your degree with less courses, less time and less cost.

The Bachelor of Commerce degree has three semesters per year enabling you to complete 45 credits or 15 courses in a calendar year! That is a fast-track to completing your degree!

Business Administration diploma graduates (3-year business advanced diploma)
You can be admitted into the Bachelor of Commerce degree with a 2.7 GPA. As a full-time student with a full course load, Algonquin Business Administration graduates with a 2.9+ GPA at graduation can earn the BComm (3-year) degree by taking 15 courses in 12 months or the 4-year BComm degree by taking 20 courses in 16 months*. *Depending on course selection and availability.

Business diploma graduates (2-year business diploma)
You can be admitted into the Bachelor of Commerce degree with a 2.7 GPA. As a full-time student with a full course load, Algonquin Business diploma graduates with a 2.9+ GPA at graduation can earn a Bachelor of Commerce degree in less than two years. If you have a 3.5 GPA, then you will earn more transfer credits providing you with an opportunity to earn your degree quickly*.

For both degree options, your Algonquin College diploma or advanced diploma overall GPA will determine how many courses you will take and how quickly you can complete your degree.

Delivery Format

The BComm/degree completion program uses a variety of delivery formats. Some Bachelor of Commerce degree courses are offered in-class, in the evening, at the Algonquin College Ottawa campus. All advanced accounting courses are standard three-hour lectures delivered synchronously (live streamed) online in the evening. Many BComm program-required and elective courses are delivered asynchronously (no weekly meeting time) providing a wide range of business subjects and courses to enhance your learning. The asynchronous online course material is developed and delivered by leading university faculty and gives students the flexibility to study within a framework that suits their schedule throughout the week.

Use this application if you wish to take 1 to 5 courses in a semester with a January intake.
