Courses

Programs at Algonquin College are delivered using a variety of instruction modes. Courses may be offered in the classroom or lab, entirely online, or in a hybrid mode which combines classroom sessions with virtual learning activities. Upon registration, each full-time student is provided an Algonquin email account which is used to communicate important information about program or course events.

  2. Develop an integrated marketing communications plan for a product, concept, good and/or service based on an identified market need or target.

  4. Develop strategies for the efficient and effective placement/ distribution of products, concepts, goods, and services that respond to evolving markets.
  5. Evaluate the impact of using different marketing strategies for a product, concept, good and/or service, on the finances, Return on Investment (ROI) and business goals of an organization.
  6. Evaluate the viability of a concept, product, good and/ or service in a local, national or international markets.
  7. Conduct market research to provide information needed to make marketing decisions.
  8. Communicate marketing information persuasively and accurately in oral, written, graphic and interactive media formats.
  9. Plan, prepare and deliver a sales presentation or pitch that addresses the needs of the client.
  10. Develop strategies with clients, customers, and consumers and others to grow and maintain relationships.
  11. Develop learning and development strategies and plans to enhance professional growth in the field.
  12. Apply entrepreneurial strategies to identify and respond to new career opportunities that might include contract employment, and self-employment initiatives.

Admissions Requirements

Program Eligibility

  • Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent.
  • It is recommended that applicants have some foundation in marketing i.e. at least one postsecondary course or some business-related experience.
  • Applicants with international transcripts must provide proof of the subject-specific requirements noted above and may be required to provide proof of language proficiency. Domestic applicants with international transcripts must be evaluated through the International Credential Assessment Service of Canada (ICAS) or World Education Services (WES).
  • IELTS-International English Language Testing Service (Academic) Overall band of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each band; OR TOEFL-Internet-based (iBT)-overall 88, with a minimum of 22 in each component: Reading 22; Listening 22; Speaking 22; Writing 22; OR Duolingo English Test (DET) Overall 120, minimum of 120 in Literacy and no score below 105.

Nikita Wagh is a member of Algonquin’s School of Business and Hospitality where she is both Professor and Coordinator within the Business Administration – Marketing program. She is a digital marketer with over 15 years of experience working in the field, an entrepreneurial mind, and a passion to teach digital marketing, advertising and consumer behaviour. Nikita has developed and taught courses in the Business – Marketing and Business Administration programs at Algonquin College in Ottawa. She has previously worked with University of Toronto, OCAD University, Lambton College and Durham College either as a course developer or instructor. Nikita is known for her engaging lecture style, tying the course content to examples from everyday life while customizing the course delivery according to learners’ style – be it in-person or in remote delivery.

Nikita holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Bachelors degree in Engineering from University of Mumbai.
