Work-Integrated Learning
Marketing Research and Analysis students gain valuable hands-on experience through individual presentations, group case studies, team projects for clients and internships through work placements or work projects. Students have opportunities to network with research professionals through arranged meetings and job fairs.
They develop the skills to use current research software tools including SPSS, MarketSight, Survey Monkey/Qualtrics, Google Analytics, Tableau and Environics Envision, and gain real-world experience by working on a marketing research project for a real client from start to finish.
Students also have the option to further their real-world experience through a paid co-operative education (co-op) work term. Please note that places in the co-op work term are subject to availability and academic eligibility. Admission to the co-op program does not guarantee a co-op placement.
Numerous public and private sector organizations have previously provided work placements for Marketing Research and Analysis students, including Recollective, Spark Advocacy, Ipsos, CAA, Phoenix SPI, Quorus Strategy, the Public Opinion Research Directorate (Government of Canada), Transport Canada, Statistics Canada, Health Canada, and others.
