Success Stories and Testimonials
“As a recent graduate of the Business – Accounting program, I can say that this program is exceptionally comprehensive and well-structured. The professors are not only knowledgeable and experienced but also genuinely care about students, providing mentorship and real-world insights.
The program focuses on current industry practices and essential software tools like QuickBooks and Excel, giving us a competitive edge in the job market. We also have access to various resources and support services, such as workshops and networking events. The career center helped us refine our resumes and interview skills, leading to successful job placements after graduation.
Additionally, the curriculum included practical projects and work placements, allowing us to apply what we learned in real business settings. This hands-on experience was invaluable and prepared us well for our careers in accounting.”
– Donglian Chen, Graduate
“The education I received at Algonquin College thoroughly prepared me for continued success at University and the successful completion of my CMA accounting designation. I still use many of the professional skills and knowledge I learned at the college, in my job as a financial analyst, assisting with the delivery of key programs for Canada’s men and women in uniform at the Department of National Defence.”
– Jason Duff, Graduate, Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
Work-Integrated Learning
The Business – Accounting program is part of the mobile computing (laptop) initiative, which better prepares students for an increasingly technology-oriented workplace. In the fourth level of the program, qualified students can participate in an optional work placement, which provides practical, on-the-job experience in the accounting departments of Ottawa-based businesses and the public and private sectors.
