LMS Weekly Update: CCOL welcomes new team members

The Centre for Continuing and Online Learning is pleased to welcome three members of the Brightspace technical administration team to its ranks.

Michel Langlais, Mariana Pietraru and Vanessa Tran — who formerly reported to Information Technology Services — moved to CCOL this week and will continue to work in the Employee Learning Exchange (ELX) alongside their ITS, Learning and Teaching Services (LTS), Centre for Organizational Learning (COL) and CCOL colleagues.

CCOL is now technical lead for Brightspace by D2L, and will be responsible for advanced LMS troubleshooting, managing the relationship with D2L and enhancing the technical capabilities of Brightspace for the College.

Employees seeking LMS support should now direct their calls to the ELX Welcome Desk phone line at x6943. With the move of the LMS help team from ITS to CCOL, this provides a single route for LMS technical and training support and ensures a timely response to any support requirements staff might have. The previous helpline number will be decommissioned shortly.

The Brightspace team would like to congratulate Keshana King, a Business Management and Entrepreneurship student who has also been Brightspace Ambassador Program Coordinator since December. King, who made the Dean’s Honours List this year, captured second place recently at the British Council of Canada Youth Innovation Summit. Please note that the 2019S course shells will be available in Brightspace by Friday, April 5.
