Social Innovation Lab

The Social Innovation Lab at Algonquin College provides students, staff, and faculty with unique opportunities to collaborate with the community for the greater good. Rooted in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030, the Lab focuses on fostering innovative solutions that address global challenges while supporting local communities.

The Lab’s work aligns with the 2017 report from the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation’s RECODE initiative and Simon Fraser University, which emphasized the role of educational institutions in building social infrastructure for Canadian communities. The Social Innovation Lab offers a platform for the Algonquin College community to engage in social innovation practices that contribute to positive change and help achieve the SDGs.
