Enhancing Paramedic Preparedness for Stressful Medical Situations

This project aims to enhance the understanding and preparation of paramedic personnel for high-stress medical scenarios. The initiative proposes the development of a comprehensive pedagogical approach that examines biological, social, and behavioral adaptations to stress.

Through this pilot project, the team will investigate the connections between psycho-social responses to stress and physiological changes, including neurological activity, heart rate, blood pressure, and the presence of hormones and proteins. By emphasizing a learner-centric environment, the project seeks to improve training methodologies, better equipping paramedics to manage stress effectively in the field. This research has the potential to elevate both the well-being of paramedic personnel and the quality of care they provide in critical situations.
