Equipment Available
Epilog Mini 24 Laser – The Epilog Mini 24 laser cutter utilises a high powered laser to make precision cuts and engravings in a variety of materials, such as paper, wood, acrylic and glass. It has a table size of 24″ x 12″.
Makerbot Replicator 2x 3D Printer – An advanced desktop 3D printer with dual extrusion that is optimized for printing with MakerBot ABS and Dissolvable Filament. You can create complex designs with intricate or interior supports using dissolvable filament. To start a 3D print, you can connect from your computer via USB or with an SD card.
Christie Holostation – A personal immersive display solution for a one-to-one virtual experience. The Christie HoloStation is a visualization solution that displays up to 16.8 megapixels of data in a 3D stereoscopic, interactive, tracked environment. Offering a compact footprint, it’s easy to deploy, easy to use and completely self-contained.
Software Available
Adobe After Effects – A digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application. It is used in the post-production process of filmmaking and television production.
Adobe Illustrator – A vector drawing program. It is often used to draw illustrations, cartoons, diagrams, charts and logos. Unlike bitmap images that store information in a grid of dots, Illustrator uses mathematical equations to draw out the shapes. This makes vector graphics scalable without the loss of resolution.
Adobe Photoshop – A raster graphics editor. It is the predominant photo editing and manipulation software on the market. Its uses range from full-featured editing of large batches of photos to creating intricate digital paintings and drawings that mimic those done by hand.
Arduino – An open source computer hardware and software company, project, and user community that designs and manufactures single-board microcontrollers and microcontroller kits for building digital devices and interactive objects that can sense and control objects in the physical and digital world.
AutoCAD – A commercial computer-aided design and drafting software application.
Sketchup – A 3D modelling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, film and video game design.
Solidworks – A solid modelling computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering computer program that runs on Microsoft Windows. SolidWorks is published by Dassault Systèmes.
