In collaboration with Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Center (PQCHC), we aimed to address Adverse Childhood Experiences and their impact on children’s development. Our project emerged from the recognition of a knowledge gap in the community about ACEs. Consequently, we focused on the specific programs offered by PQCHC that empowered parents with effective strategies and resources. Our goal was to promote these programs so families could access support and reduce the effects of ACEs.
A lithophane is a thin, translucent plaque that creates a 3D image when lit from behind. We have designed and built a system for visualizing and generating lithophanes, focusing on functionality, reliability, and ease of use to make the process simple for anyone wanting to create them from their photos. We have integrated our system into Shopify, allowing users to quickly and securely preview, customize, and order their Lithophanes from all their devices, including phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops.
The tools currently available do not allow users to preview the finished product. Those that do exist are using outdated techniques, have low performance, and are very complicated to use. LiT’s 3D viewer was designed with these issues in mind from the beginning, to provide the opposite experience.

Italian Language Learning System aims to provide a convenient, all-in-one, user-friendly language learning platform for the University of Ottawa Italian Studies students. Our team developed a bilingual iOS mobile application for students to access various study resources, including reading materials, videos, and embedded Edpuzzle assignments. In addition, we created a bilingual student portal web application as a supplement for students who might not have access to mobile devices, prefer a larger screen, or have vision disabilities requiring screen enhancement or replacement software. We improved the website’s functionality and design of the administration portal we received from last year’s team, ensuring smooth navigation, accurate student information and course content management.
Image Style Transfer is a deep learning artificial intelligence model that translates images given from a dedicated user interface to one of the selectable art-styles, doing this by applying neural network concepts in the training stage of the model.
Corrective Touch application is designed to track and visualize chiropractic patients’ pain levels throughout their treatment. The application will enable patients to easily track their physical condition and appointment records on their mobile phones, as well as help chiropractors achieve paperless tracking of patient recovery progress. The app addresses the current gap where patients lack a systematic way to track their rehabilitation and chiropractors only have in-session data. It features an interface for both patients and chiropractors to ensure tailored experiences for both types of users. It contains functionalities for patient users to log appointments, pain levels, and notes, with secure data access. The backend is developed using ASP .NET for Azure compatibility, and the mobile front end is developed in Flutter so that the application can be available on multiple platforms (iOS & Android). Additional features include educational resources, bilingual support, and data visualization.
An automated video-generation artificial intelligence (AI) program used to automate the process of splitting a video into frames, passing those frames through a generative AI, which will then produce new frames of similar content but will now be cartoon-style, and stitching the generated frames back into a single video, all while minimizing frame drop.

It offers real-time transcription, easy access to podcasts via keyword search, and generates subtitle files to assist users with hearing disabilities. Built with FastAPI and Python for robust backend support, and utilizing Firebase for secure authentication and data storage, PodConnect ensures a seamless and scalable user experience across all devices.
