The “One Click Away” project at The Ottawa Mission aimed to bridge the digital divide for individuals experiencing homelessness by providing access to digital resources from the Ottawa Public Library, including e-books, movies, and music. The project addressed challenges like limited awareness and physical barriers by introducing iPads with easy-to-follow guides and staff training. Activities like movie afternoons were included to reduce isolation and promote social interaction. The initiative aimed to improve emotional well-being and provide opportunities for engagement, demonstrating the positive impact of technology for vulnerable populations.
This project explores caffeine consumption patterns among students at Algonquin College. Through surveys, we gathered data on students’ caffeine usage and preferences, and explored reasons why caffeine is used on a day-to-day basis. Our findings provided insights for the production of an electronic resource with the goal of informing students of the health benefits and risks of caffeine use.

This Community Health Nursing project focused on assisting clients in building resiliency by providing them with stress management strategies and skills for coping with life challenges. This was achieved through a series of small-scale interventions focusing on building relationships within the community at Cornerstone.
Our project focuses on teaching vaginal health promotion in four areas: hygiene, nutrition, infection, and contraception. This information was presented to the targeted population over two fun and interactive sessions.

This project aims to equip CPAR with a diverse set of resources to effectively communicate the impact of the Enhancing Sexual and Reproductive Health for Women and Adolescents (ESWA) initiative, amplifying the impact of public health efforts, raising awareness, and ensuring that critical messages reach the right audiences. Some deliverables included posters and PowerPoint presentations.
According to Ottawa Public Health, from 2011-2019, the rates of chlamydia have increased by 26%, the rates of gonorrhea increased 171% and the rates of syphillis have increased by 389%. Homeless youth in the Ottawa area are at a higher risk of developing sexually transmitted infections. In collaberation with Operation Come Home this project provided youth with an information session and educational resources to increase awareness regarding safe sex practices.
