Sliding into Winter

Wow where did summer and fall go. Lots to update and I never did tell you about those summer projects, so here goes:

Summer Projects: We worked with Privacy Analytics to help virtualize testing and certification for the emerging field of data anonymization which is critical for sharing large clinical data sets . We brought together diverse expertise to help build a STEMI (ST Segment Myocardial infarction) recognition game for planetECG. This game embeds pattern recognition skills for healthcare professionals to identify the emergent need for life saving procedures. Continue reading

Algonquin College Breath of Life Campaign

In Spring 2014, an interdisciplinary group of students from Algonquin College, Ottawa, will train local birth attendants in newborn resuscitation and work with children and youth on a health and wellness project in the Bunda District, Tanzania. The students will deliver part of the training using an augmented reality application they built themselves with NGRAIN© Augmented Reality. Applied Research Client featured on CBC Ottawa

A client’s collaborative research project focused on bringing accessible clothing to the disabled was recently featured on CBC Ottawa. This project was conducted in collaboration with the Health and Wellness Research Centre (Office of Applied Research and Innovation) and supported through funding from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
