Project Description:

The 7-a-side football tournament project is a student-led initiative in applied project management, dedicated to supporting the charity Legacy of Hope. This national organization aims to raise awareness about the legacy of residential schools and support the healing process of Residential School Survivors, particularly among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.
Through the tournament, the project team aims to raise funds that directly contribute to Legacy of Hope’s charitable endeavors, providing stability and permanency for children in their care and fostering healthy brain development and relationships. The event also serves as a platform to unite football enthusiasts from the local community, promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.
Beyond the charitable aspect, the project emphasizes the importance of physical activity and well-being. It encourages participants to lead healthier lifestyles, instilling discipline and dedication through sports.
Overall, the 7-a-side football tournament project combines a passion for sports, community engagement, and practical project management. By applying their course concepts, the students seek to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others while supporting Legacy of Hope’s mission for a better future for the less fortunate.
