Michelle Valberg is an award-winning Canadian photographer who possesses artistic creativity, entrepreneurial spirit and community commitment. Her extraordinary success as a photographer is shaped by the spirit of giving she embraces to help make the world a better place.
Michelle is one of 6 Canadian Nikon Ambassadors and her photographs have appeared both on the cover and inside National Geographic Magazine, as well as Canadian Geographic, US, In Style and several other international titles. Michelle was named the first Canadian Geographic Photographer-In-Residence and has self-published four books. Michelle recently released her fifth publication in partnership with Canadian Geographic called Colouring Canada.
She had a solo exhibit at one of Canada’s finest national museums. In 2011, Michelle showcased 84 stunning photos of Canada’s Arctic at the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa—home to the world’s largest natural history collection. Arctic Kaleidoscope brought the haunting beauty of Canada’s North to an estimated 140,000 visitors over a three-month period.
Michelle has an image appears on a Royal Canadian Mint Coin in celebration of Canada’s 150th featuring a drum dancer from Nunavut.
Michelle’s work extends beyond photography. In 2009 she co-founded Project North, a not for profit organization committed to delivering education and sport based opportunities to youth in Canada’s Arctic. Since its inception, more than $1,000,000 in new sports equipment that has been delivered to more than 28 Inuit communities.
