Making In-Kind Donations to the Algonquin College Advancement Office
If you own a tangible piece of property such as a work of art, rare books, equipment, vehicles, machinery or valuable collections they well could qualify as an in-kind donation as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency, the federal government department that regulates and oversees all charitable donations.

There are many physical objects that can be considered and accepted as in-kind donations and they may result in significant tax deductions for you, as the donor.
If your in-kind gift is accepted, you would be required to transfer ownership to the Algonquin College Advancement Office, in writing.
A written evaluation of fair, market value of your in-kind gift (at the time it is donated) is established by a qualified, third-party appraiser, and you receive a donation receipt for income tax purposes.
