Mission:

The Office of Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship brings Algonquin College’s talented professors and students to greater Ottawa’s businesses, industry and community organizations to collaborate on applied research projects that provide practical solutions to everyday issues and create new and innovative products and services.

Volunteer Position Description:

Our team in the Applied Research department at Algonquin College is currently working on an artificial intelligence tool called Casey. Casey is designed to have a conversation with a student and recommend college resources based on the information the student shares about their college experiences.

We are working on improving Casey’s conversational abilities and are looking for testers to try out Casey and give feedback on their experience. This will include having a text-based conversation with Casey and may also include giving feedback on web interface designs.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must have completed minimum one semester of program at Algonquin College
