Mission: Founded in 2004, Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led, non-partisan, charitable organization that supports our peers in being active citizens in Canada’s democracy. Apathy is Boring supports youth to take charge of the conditions they live in through both political and non-political processes.

Volunteer Position Description:

Do you want to create change in your community? Are you interested in gender equality? Are you a youth aged 18-30? Apply to join us as an Apathy is Boring RISE Ambassador!

Apathy is Boring is a national, youth-led organization that works to empower and support young people to get involved in their communities and cities.

Our RISE program is designed for young people with little or no previous experience in volunteering. Over the course of 22 weeks, our RISE Ambassadors will build skills and collaborate with others to build a community project in their city. RISE is currently offered in the cities of Halifax, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, Ottawa and Toronto.

The RISE program will run for 22 weeks from January 20th, 2020 to June 12th, 2020. Youth ambassadors have to commit 6 hours a week, which includes a weekly 3 hour meeting one evening per week in your city. There is also a mandatory (and fun!) 4 day retreat to attend in Quebec between February 13th and February 16th 2020. All expenses are paid and Ambassadors from across Canada will come together to meet each other, build skills and get inspiration for their projects.

This is a great opportunity to gain new skills, build a network of change-makers, and make community impact by creating a project from the ground-up.
