Mission:
Stars in a Jar connects childhood cancer survivors with children on active cancer treatment. We strive to provide these young warriors with the message of hope, strength, and life after cancer.
Kids are connected to childhood cancer survivors by way of origami stars filled with messages of hope. These collection of stars are made by volunteers who re-write messages authored by a cancer survivor. The origami stars are for a patient to unfold and discover. Each jar by a survivor provides glimpses of their cancer journey and is a way of saying, they were there once and you can do it too.
Volunteer Position Description:
Volunteers primarily support us at our Jar Nights, where they help us make our origami stars. We provide the paper, pens, Jars, messages, and snacks to make it a memorable event! Jar nights are held on a monthly basis.
Once you have attended a Jar Night, you can sign up to help with private events at schools and workplaces.

• Sitting for long periods of time
