Mission:

Established in 1944, Mothercraft Ottawa is a charitable, non-profit multifaceted family support agency offering a wide array of programs for families from pregnancy to school age, including childcare, play groups, parent education, and support.

Our EarlyON programs are free of charge for all parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 6 years, residing in Ontario. Regulated by the Ministry of Education, our programs and services provide opportunities for all children six years of age and under, together with their parents/caregivers, to participate in play and inquiry-based programs, and for parents and caregivers to receive support in their roles and have access to information about child development and specialized services as needed.

Volunteer Position Description:

Mothercraft Ottawa’s EarlyON program is seeking volunteers to assist with a drop-in playgroup on Saturday mornings from 9-12 in Barrhaven.

This opportunity would be an excellent fit for those interested in pursuing careers in early childhood development/education or any family support or community based service.

Tasks will include but are not limited to working directly with children and families, assisting the facilitator with program delivery, set up, tear down, crafts and light cleaning.

Volunteer Requirements:

• Police Record Check
• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Interacting with the public / in a group setting

How to Apply: Applicants must have a valid Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector and Standard First Aid/CPR.
