Volunteer Position Title: 2019 Walk for Dementia Participant and Recruitment Support

Mission: We help people in our communities impacted by dementia, by providing guidance and support, social programs and peer engagement, education, and information and resources.

Volunteer Position Description:

The marketing and communication support’s responsibilities include:

  • Attend Volunteer Planning Committee meetings – approximately 4 meetings will occur between March and May.
  • Working with Communications Officer, compile list of businesses, organizations and other contacts to target as potential teams and participants.
  • Promote the Corporate Team Challenge to allied businesses to enhance potential Walk for Dementia participation
  • Assist with following-up with past participants to encourage registration
  • At the Walk for Dementia, support participants with check-in questions on event day

Volunteer Requirements:

  • outdoor activities
  • interacting with the public / in a group setting
