Mission: The BYTOWN MUSEUM will provide the residents of Ottawa and visitors from abroad with a sense of identity and pride in Ottawa’s rich story. Through its collections and programs, the Museum aspires to be a model of excellence in furthering knowledge and pride of place among diverse visitors of all ages.

Volunteer Position Description: The Bytown Museum has organized many events for the months of July and August and is searching for some volunteers to help run these events!

Let Us Entertain You is one of the events that will be happening here at Bytown every Thursday evening beginning on Thursday, July 5th until the end of summer ending on Thursday, August 30th between 5 pm and 8 pm. Many local artists will be performing in the evening. In case you were curious as to which artists will be performing you can check out the link and the dates on the Bytown website!

Duties:

  • Set up/ Take down for performers
  • Greeting visitors
  • Cleaning duties as required
  • Restocking

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Police Record Check
  • Heavy Lifting (more than 10lbs at a time)
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Outdoor Activities
  • Interacting with the public / in a group setting
  • Training Required
