Position Title: Greeting Post-Information Desk Volunteer
Volunteer Time Frame: until Dec 31, 2022

- Volunteer Position Description: Volunteers meet and greet, assist in group programming, friendly visit with patients and encourage their participation.
Volunteer Position Description: Volunteers meet and greet the patients/public at the entrance of the hospital, provide directions and way finding and deal with general inquiries as well as assisting with phone transfers to patient rooms.
Location: Main Entrance
Hours of Service: Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 12:15; 12:15 – 16:15; 16:00 – 20:00
Weekends: 10:30 – 14:30; 16:00 – 20:00
Volunteer Commitment: Minimum one shift per week. The hospital relies on the commitment of all our volunteers.
• All information (both written and verbal) concerning patients and hospital business is strictly confidential and must be treated as privileged information.
• Keep informed and adhere to policies & procedures
• Read and abide with all sections of the Volunteer Handbook
• Ensure the safety of self and others at all times by observing safety precautions, adhering to fire regulations and practices and practicing infection control measures as outlined by the hospital
• Display a warm, friendly, polite and outgoing personality
• Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, displaying tact, diplomacy and professionalism
• Must have a customer service orientated approach to serving the public
• Display a neat and professional appearance always wearing the proper uniform and ID badge
• Must have the ability to physically remain mobile throughout the shift • Report to the Admitting Receptionist / Call Centre staff designate in the assignment area (|Main Entrance) for daily reports / communication update.
• Volunteers are required to work together effectively, as a Team, and all volunteers must be able to rotate throughout all three functions within the program.
Volunteer Position Requirements:
- Police record check
- TB test
- Training Required
