Rogers TV

Position title: Sports Production Volunteers
Volunteer time frame: ongoing

Address: 475 Richmond Rd.
Website: http://www.rogerstv.com/

Mission statement: Rogers TV offers students, career professionals, and the general public the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of television production. Our opportunities cater to all ages, race, and educational background. However, those with a technology, communications or journalism background tend to thrive well in our program. We produce hyper local programming that is timely and relevant. Our primary focus is on the people, places and events in Ottawa and the valley.

Volunteer description: Rogers TV is currently recruiting sports production volunteers to work behind-the-scenes on a weekly or bi-weekly basis on any ONE of the following days: Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays. Volunteer production roles primarily consist of camera, sound, graphic, and replay work. If you enjoy a variety of sports, thrive in a fast-paced environment, have an interest in learning new skills from industry professionals, and can commit to volunteering once a week or every second week, then apply on-line here (http://www.rogerstv.com/). Those who have an interest in sound, replays, and technical directing are currently of special interest to us.

All applicants must fill out an online application form which can be found on the website in the volunteer section of the website. Once applications are reviewed by the station’s Coordinator of Volunteer Resources, applicants will be invited to attend an information session. Attending the information session does NOT guarantee the applicant a volunteer placement, nor are applicants expected to join the program. It is simply an opportunity to learn more about the program and the opportunities that exist within. Volunteer selection is based on a number of things and is determined after applicants have attended the volunteer information night.
