Mission:

Safe Wings Ottawa is a program of the Ottawa Field-Naturalists’ Club to reduce bird mortality from window collisions through research, prevention and rescue. Our mission is to learn more about the extent of the problem in Ottawa, to raise awareness about the causes of window strikes, and to encourage effective solutions.

Volunteer Position Description:

We need someone who can update/rebuild our WP website to make it more modern and mobile-friendly, to ensure plugins work properly and that it’s integrated with social media platforms. The content would stay largely the same but should be more accessible and dynamic. We also need to find a solution to our online collision reporting forms, to either change the format/presentation of the Google form or to find a form that simplifies exporting the data straight into a Google Sheet.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Sitting for long periods of time
