Volunteer Location: Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre, 1365 Richmond Road & The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, Foster Farm Chapter, 2825 Dumaurier Avenue.

Mission: Pathways to Education is a non-profit organization created to reduce poverty and its effects by lowering the high school dropout rate and increasing access to post-secondary education among disadvantaged youth in Canada.

Volunteer Position Description:

We are looking for motivated tutors/mentors to join our Tutoring team to support our students with core high school subjects, ie. Literacy and numeracy skills, sciences, history, geography, accounting, ESL and FSL, etc. Successful volunteers for this position will be passionate about teaching and creating positive relationships with underprivileged youth.

Hours: 2-3 hours between 4-7:30pm; Monday-Thursday

Languages: English, French, Somali, Arabic

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Police Record Check
  • Bilingual (French)
  • Interacting with the public / in a group setting
  • Training Required
