The Bytown Museum will provide the residents of Ottawa and visitors from abroad with a sense of identity and pride in Ottawa’s rich story. Through its collections and programs, the Museum aspires to be a model of excellence in furthering knowledge and pride of place among diverse visitors of all ages.

Volunteer Position Description:

Let Us Entertain You is an event that will be happening here at Bytown every Thursday evening beginning on Thursday, July 5th until the end of summer ending on Thursday August 30th. There is free admission to the museum on these evenings and we provide free, live entertainment as well. If you would like to volunteer and help us out with any of these dates please feel free to email us!

  • Dates: Thursday’s from July 11th – August 29th, 2019. Time: 5pm – 8pm.
  • Duties: Set up/ Take down for performers, greeting visitors, cleaning duties as required, and restocking.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Police Record Check
  • Heavy Lifting (more than 10lbs at a time)
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Outdoor ActivitiesInteracting with the public / in a group setting
  • Training Required
