Mission:

CAUSE Tutoring is a non-profit organization that is operated entirely by dedicated volunteers. We focus on increasing access to education for the vulnerable and at-risk community in the Ottawa area by providing free on-site tutoring services at our community partners.

Volunteer Position Description:

The event planners are responsible for the following:

  • The logistical planning of conferences, galas, team-building, and fundraising events
  • Adhering to the budget and provide resources
  • Acquiring speakers, venues, catering, and necessary resources
  • Outreach to sponsors, donors, or financial partner
  • Taking an active role in the implementation and running of events

Qualifications and expectations of this role include:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are a must
  • Team-player and creative force
  • Experience in event planning or logistical organization
  • Be willing to volunteer about 5 hours per week. The hours required for this position may vary depending on the scale and deadlines of upcoming events
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
  • Be available to attend volunteers meetings (every 2 weeks).

  • Interacting with the public/in a group setting
