Mission: The Ottawa Chinese-Canadian Heritage Centre is a non-profit charitable organization that promotes the spirit of multiculturalism by fostering artistic exchanges that serves people from different backgrounds by organizing cultural, recreational, and educational programs, events and activities.

Volunteer Positions Available:

  • fundraising campaigns and events
  • grant applications
  • sponsorship facilitator
  • renovations/maintenance
  • procurement
  • outreach: posting ads, event promotion, social media
  • HR: Hiring new instructors, managing volunteers and schedules
  • Clerical: Data entry, document management
  • teachers: theatre, dance, music, yoga/calisthenics + other activities for seniors (main target group), English/French, Chinese
  • educational campaign coordinator (currently working on a Marijuana education campaign to reduce stigma against the drug in the Chinese community)
  • event planning
    ***the centre runs multiple programs for seniors weekly and is gearing up to start new programs such as a new theatre program, and cooking program –> volunteers would be much appreciated

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Interacting with the public / in a group setting
