When in Doubt: AC Hub Desk it Out
Posted on Monday, October 1st, 2018
Can you believe we’re already a month into the semester? September was a whirlwind – new classes and profs, countless clubs, and activities happening all around campus. If you’re like me, you’ve finally found the most direct route from Baseline Station to your classes, you can find your locker without checking ACSIS (most of the time), and you’re beginning to master Brightspace. You are in the groove of your academic life, but what about campus life?
With so much happening on campus, AC Hub Desks can connect you with info, events, and services to make your college experience a little easier. You can find them in key locations across campus, such as the 2nd floor of ACCE/ CA, 4 Corners, and more. The friendly, knowledgeable upper-level Student Navigators are there to ensure you feel heard, prepared, and at home on campus. Many of the student staff speak multiple languages, so keep an eye out for each person’s sign stating which languages they speak!
Whether you’re looking for directions to get around campus, or need a stapler or hole-punch on your way to class, AC Hub Desks have your back. But they also offer much more. They can keep you in the loop on cool events happening around campus and sign you up on the spot. Looking for volunteer opportunities? They can let you know about the AC Hub’s upcoming Community Projects and sign you up for those as well!
And campus life includes more than events – it’s also about making the most of the many resources available to you. Did you know that we have a Spiritual Centre which hosts a variety of weekly gatherings, that you can join Counselling groups or Mood Walks, or that ASPIRE AC is here to help all learners reach their potential for postsecondary success? Ask the AC Hub Desk what services are available on campus – some may surprise you!
The AC Hub student staff members can also be reached via a Live Chat which can be found in the bottom right-hand corner of the Student Support Services website. That way, even if you’re offcampus, you can still get your questions answered.
Next time you pass an AC Hub Desk, take a second and chat to one of our awesome Student Navigators, and discover how you can make the most of your semester.
